Thank you Kiwanis Club of a Owatonna for sponsoring and supporting the St. Mary’s School “Citizen of the Year” awards. One student (2nd grade through 6th grade) was chosen in each class. It isn’t an easy choice, with so many great kids to choose from! What a fun-filled day the students had at our Spirit Day today. It will be the last time the students have a chance to be with their Spirit Groups for the year...

Congratulations to our 8th graders, who graduated tonight. It is always hard to say good-bye. We thank them for their leadership and for being positive role-models to our younger students. We are thrilled to report 14 out of the 38 OHS students graduating with high distinction (earning a 3.95 GPA or higher) are SMS Alumni! Yes, that is right! 40% of these high achievers were our students!!!! While at SMS they were a class of 35 and now they are a class of 350...there are no words to describe how grateful we are to have been a partner in their education.

Our 3rd graders finished a simple machine unit with a take apart day. They found gears, screws, inclined planes, wedges, pulleys, wheels & axels, levers, motors, circuit boards, and magnets. Today they created junk sculptures with some of those items and other unused treasures from home. CAUTION when viewing pictures....creativity is at work! The final product, along with their inventions, will be showcased on Wednesday afternoon!

Congratulations to 1st grader Molly and 2nd grader Molly for being recognized as this week's Shining Knights! Their kindness does not go unnoticed!

We had an absolute blast last night as we hosted the 7/8th Grade Knight Games!! So many laughs and lots of memories made! Students participated in an “Amazing Race” to various spots near SMS competing in fun group challenges!

The 4th graders enjoyed an educational trip to Farm America today! It was a beautiful day to learn about the way things used to be!

Our 8th graders did a great job leading May Crowning today. It is one of our favorite school celebrations as we honor the Mother of God and witness our 8th graders leadership and compassion. May we be blessed with Mary’s grace and love and through her intercession seek to do the will of God in all things.

We were blessed with an awesome day for Track and Field Day! Great job, students! Thank you to our organizers and all volunteers that made this day a great success!

Congratulations 3rd Grader Sophie and 5th grader Eli for being recognized as this week's SMS Shining Knights. We are proud to recognize your excellence.

The 6th graders enjoyed watching the things they have been learning about come to life at Fort Snelling. It was a fact-filled trip!

The past few weekends our 2nd grade students have celebrated their First Holy Communion! Today we were blessed to share in their First Communion with our school community. What a beautiful mass to be a part of. Congratulations 2nd graders! It is evident your hearts are filled with Jesus as you celebrate this special sacrament. May you always grow in grace and knowledge of our Savior Jesus Christ. 11 Peter 3:18

CONGRATULATIONS to these 2 AwEsOmE SMS Student Council Members! They have been selected to join the OHS Student Council as Freshman Representatives next year!! WAY TO GO DAMIAN & LAUREN! Your leadership, fun ideas, and desire to help others will truly be missed next year!!

The 2nd graders received First Communion bags from their 6th grade buddies. It is a special tradition that we are glad to continue!

The Jr High Students played and sang beautifully! Way to go! The 8th graders were sent off with some fun SMS videos at the end of the concert. We will miss you 8th graders!

Congratulations to 5th grader Brodie and 6th grader Kennedy for being this week's Shining Knights. Both are recognized for excellence in the classroom.

We are speechless! Thank you for your amazing generosity & support in our WE CREATE CHANGE project. Our first coin turn in brought us $110, just $40 shy of our $150 goal. We have received approximately $250 more in coins within the last week, and for that we are beyond grateful. We will be able to send at least 8 dairy goats to our partner in Kenya!!
