Despite a soaking rain that later turned to snow, St. Mary's School students and staff were still able to celebrate the Eucharist together on the last day of school before Christmas vacation. Thanks to the flexibility of our priests, mass was celebrated in the Dining Hall at Pillsbury.
The junior high students began with a prelude featuring Laura G and Zachary L with vocal solos and Lincoln M with a saxophone solo. The 4th grade students led the mass in various liturgical roles and Fr. Sauer helped us get ready for Christmas during his homily. After mass, the 4th graders had their Breakthrough Bibles, generously donated by the Home and School Association, blessed by Fr. Sauer and Deacon Pat and got their class picture taken.
It was a great way to kick off our last day of school. Come rain, come snow, come sleet, come hail and storm, we still find a way to make Jesus the center of our school.
