The 9th Annual St. Mary’s School Marathon has been a huge success. We had a school-wide goal of $29,000 to reach in one month. Our students worked to provide service to others to earn money as pledges for our walk for education! Along the way we had school incentives for each milestone reached such as no homework day, PJ day, movie and popcorn day, etc. However the biggest incentive was our first “marathon challenge”, which was to bring in $5,000 on one turn in day and two lucky students would get to put a pie in Mrs. Segna’s and Mr. Smith’s faces! The student body had a fun time watching this event, and they were quite motivated by bringing in $10,000 that day!
Our Marathon Day was a huge success with gorgeous weather on September 30th. We walked to and around the fairgrounds, visible and waving to the community. It was awesome to hear the cars honk and wave back at us. What a great way to show the community our love for our school! We have exceeded our goal and raised over $32,000! We would like to thank our families, parishes, and community for helping to support catholic education. We love our school!
