Math League

St. Mary’s 7th and 8th grade students who are in Enriched Math are invited to participate in a Math League at Owatonna Junior High School every year. Mr. Doug Maine, an Owatonna High School math teacher, leads the Math League.
This year St. Mary’s had three 7th grade students participate: Lauren Borgerding, Emmanuel Ojulu, and John Pfeifer. The math team practiced every Monday starting at the end of September and had five meets during their season, with their final meet on January 11. A meet consists of two 10 minute individual portions and a 20 minute team portion.
Congratulations to Lauren, Emmanuel, and John for working hard and dedicating their time to improving their academics and to John who earned a medal for finishing the year with an individual 6th place finish!
