December 19, 2016“Gamin’ for Ms. Grose”
Free Throw-A-Thon
In an effort to help Ms. Grose throughout her courageous battle with cancer, the proceeds from the Free Throw-A-Thon will be donated to her.
This year we have a new learning lab class, Business & Marketing. When learning of the hardships Ms. Grose has had to go through, these students wanted to help. We came up with the idea for the Free Throw-A-Thon, as they decided to incorporate a “Gamin’ for Ms. Grose” basketball game in place of the annual “Fight Cancer” basketball game. This game will be on January 9 th vs. Bethlehem Academy.
The event will be 2 mornings before school:
Tuesday January 10th and Wednesday January 11th at 7:15 a.m.
All junior high students (6 th-8 th Grade) will be shooting 100 free throws on one of these mornings. Their free throws will be counted and tracked by members of the St. Mary’s Business Committee.
HOW THIS WORKS:
Prior to that date, shooters will solicit pledges for their efforts. Those pledges can be given either as a certain amount for each FT made or simply as a pre-determined amount for the pledge for a student who shoots 100 free throws (in the event that the donor wants to simply make a donation in advance).
