April 23, 2016Over $500 was raised for Birthright thanks to the over sixty 6-7-8th graders who participated in Babyball on Friday, April 22nd at the Jerry Kent Gymnasium. Eight teams began the night in pool play that set up a 6 team single elimination bracket headed by top pool seeds the Oreo Oddballs and the Blueberry Muffin Bandits. The Bandits narrowly edged out the Oddballs 6-5 in the extra inning championship game.
Other participating teams were the Pizza Roll Patrol, Cheeto Cheetahs, Hot Tamale Heroes, PB & J Pals, Cotton Candy Kids, and Shamrock Shakers.
Members of the championship Bandits were: John P, David S, Joe B, Lincoln M, Grace S, Haylee M, Kialee K, and Dani R.
A special thanks to Court Sports and More for providing t-shirts at a discounted price, Tom Sager, Mark Randall, Jason Wray-Raabolle, Matt Jessop, and Bill Dublin for umpiring and Stacey Ginskey and Chandra Wray-Raabolle for keeping the troops in line at the concession stand and inbetween games.
