Hello everyone! Let me tell you a little about myself. I grew up and currently live in Savage, Minnesota with my family of six. I am the oldest of four, with three younger sisters. In my free time, I like to spend time with my family and friends, explore our great state of Minnesota, and read. I also love to watch all sports, and play basketball on the driveway with my sisters.
I earned a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Minnesota. I love learning and discovering new, exciting, and developmentally appropriate practices to support and educate young children.
My approach to teaching young children is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach which values children as competent, curious, and full of knowledge and potential, and supports student learning through cooperative and collaborative learning experiences. My approach is also inspired by the Restitution Self-Discipline Model, and Culturally Responsive Teaching - both of which I will share with you throughout the school year.
I am committed to understanding and honoring children's sense of identity and the learning process, and am looking forward to seeing what this year will bring!
