St Mary’s School provides its students and staff access to a number of technology resources. We believe these resources provide incredible opportunities to enhance learning and improve communication within our community and beyond. With the privilege of access comes great responsibility for students, teachers, staff and families. St Mary’s School expects all community members to exercise appropriate personal responsibility in their use of these resources. Our policies are intended to promote the most effective, safe, productive, and instructionally sound uses of networked information & communication tools. Our school maintains a system of Internet filtering intended to protect students from exposure to Internet materials that are harmful or explicit.
St. Mary’s students have access to a number of technology tools. All classrooms are equipped with an interactive white board. One computer lab is adjecent to the library, and a MAC Lab is located on the main JH floor. Students in grades K-5 have access to numerous iPads, and a set of 50 Chromebooks are shared among our 6-8 grade students.
This school year we added a Makerspace to our learning environment. This space houses a littleBits pro circuit library, littleBits STEAM sets, and many other materials intended to inspire the inner inventor in all our students. Our JH grades will be using this space throughtout the day and we plan to make the space available after school for students in grades 1-5.
