Players and spectators enjoyed competitive games in today's floor hockey tournament. In the end, the white team won the 2017 SMS Championship! Congrats to all the players for their fantastic effort and sportsmanship.
3rd Grader Sophie felt bad for the hurricane victims in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico and wanted to make a difference! She held a bake sale, promoting it to her classmates. She raised $165.39. All proceeds have been donated to the American Red Cross for their relief efforts. WE ARE PROUD OF YOU SOPHIE for thinking of others going through a difficult time.
At the 2017 Nights of Knights Auction, the attendees demonstrated the true spirit of the community, with their outpouring generosity; over $44,000 was raised during the Spirit of the Knight give. This year the Spirit of the Knight allowed some significant upgrades to the lighting and rigging system on our stage. Click to read about the changes!
We appreciate our grandparents and special friends that were able to spend part of the day with us on Wednesday. It is great to attend Mass, share our musical talent, and show our classrooms to those we hold dear to our hearts!
It was a busy week for SMS 6th graders! They created a Halloween story with their 2nd grade reading buddies, led Wednesday mass, and were a fantastic audience for a fantastic Minnesota author, William Durbin. They also turned hunger into hope by helping pack meals for the "Feed My Starving Children" MobilePack event in Owatonna.
It's that time of the year in 3rd grade - minerals, rocks, and fossils - OH MY! Thanks to the Oldcastle staff for a fun-filled and educational trip to the quarry! It will always be a favorite SMS field trip, for good reason!

Our 3-day and 4-day preschoolers have been very busy enjoying fall! They have visited a pumpkin patch, carved their favorite pumpkin, visited an apple orchard, and made applesauce! Fun!!! Check out some pictures!
