Community Service

While academics are the primary focus at St. Mary’s School, we believe that developing each student’s sense of social responsibility is equally important. Stewardship is a message of love and hope at SMS as we teach our students the importance of doing God’s work. Students and faculty at all grade levels are committed to helping those in need. Our junior high students routinely average over 4,000 hours of community service each year. Some of the projects our students participate in include:

  • conducting food and coat drives
  • assisting those in transitional housing
  • visiting the elderly in nursing homes
  • creating Caring Cards for cancer patients
  • raising money for victims of natural disasters
  • helping senior citizens with lawn and home care
